Community Safety Investment Grant Program

The Community Safety Investment Fund will provide opportunities for community organisations to design and deliver locally focused, community led solutions to prevent or respond to youth offending, strengthen families and improve community safety.

Programs and initiatives will contribute to the achievement of objectives:

• Deliver holistic responses that address the underlying needs and risks that contribute to young people’s involvement with the justice system and improve their outcomes.
• Deliver culturally responsive initiatives that build long-term resilience and protective factors, increase connection to culture and improving social and emotional wellbeing for young people and families.
• Deliver programs and initiatives that empower young people and their families to achieve change in the young person's behaviour and safety.
• Support young people and families to re-engage with education, training, or employment.
• Increase community safety through tailored initiatives for high-risk youth.
• Whole of community initiatives that engage young people in pro-social activities.
• Particular interest in grant applications that align with and help achieve the NSW Government’s Closing the Gap priorities, including: Target 11: to reduce the overrepresentation of Aboriginal young people in the criminal justice system, so that by 2031, the rate of Aboriginal young people (10-17 years) in detention is reduced by 30 per cent.
• Prevent and respond to youth offending.
• Divert young people from court which create positive pathways with communities.
• Support young people transitioning from custody back to their community and provide support and opportunities to help them thrive to reduce reoffending.

Recreational Fishing Trusts Grants - 2026

When fishing in NSW waters, both freshwater and saltwater, recreational fishers are required to pay the NSW Recreational Fishing Fee. All revenue raised by the NSW Recreational Fishing Fee is placed into the Recreational Fishing Trusts. There are two Trusts - one for saltwater and one for freshwater. Funds from the Trusts are used to deliver a wide range of projects and programs to boost recreational fishing opportunities in NSW.

There are different funding applications to choose from when applying for funding:

• Fishing education projects - up to $10,000 of funding
• Infrastructure and access projects - up to $50,000 of funding

• Implement innovative projects to boost recreational fishing opportunities.
• Promote recreational fishing as a healthy, outdoors activity for the whole family.
• Educate fishers to fish responsibly and safely.

Ninganah No More - 2026

This program aims to increase the number of early childhood services across NSW providing access to Aboriginal languages and to support culturally safe and responsive early childhood education and care (ECEC) in NSW. It provides an opportunity for Aboriginal culture and identity to be nurtured in the earliest stage of formal education across NSW. This recognises the importance of cultural identity and the role it plays in children's development and learning outcomes.

The NNM program has 6 core objectives:

• Aboriginal language and culture are present in ECEC programs.
• The number of Aboriginal children learning an Aboriginal language is increased.
• Aboriginal children remain connected to culture and grow their cultural identity through language.
• ECEC services establish and maintain connection with their local Aboriginal community.
• Inclusive learning environments for Aboriginal children.
• Children in the early years have the opportunity to learn Aboriginal languages.
